Our Rehabilitation team provides government-funded Kinesiology, Occupational Therapy, and Physiotherapy services. Our department is open Monday to Friday 8:00am-4:00pm with evening Physiotherapy hours on Wednesdays until 7:00pm. Please call (905) 523-1184 for more information.

You may qualify for our services if: 

  • You live in Hamilton 
  • You do not have any health benefits or coverage (including WSIB or MVA claim)
  • You live with diabetes and would like to access our Diabetes Exercise program 

1. Diabetes Exercise Program 

  • You will complete an individualized exercise program with a registered Kinesiologist 
  • You may be connected to other members of the interdisciplinary Diabetes Education team 
  • You may be encouraged to join our SIT and FIT program; focused on balance, posture, and strength

2. Occupational Therapy 

Occupational Therapy helps people of all ages develop strategies to manage daily activities that have become challenging due to injury, illness, or disability. 

You will receive support with: 

  • Increasing independence and safety with self-care tasks (showering, dressing, grooming)
  • Improving sleep quality
  • Being safe at home and preventing falls
  • Managing finances (banking, paying bills)
  • Returning to or managing work
  • Shopping, meal prep, laundry, and cleaning
  • Driving or using public transit
  • Using your extra time for socializing, hobbies, or volunteering
  • Becoming more active
  • Managing stress, anger, anxiety, pain, or fatigue

3. Physiotherapy 

Physiotherapy helps you optimize physical health, reduce pain, and restore movement. 

You will receive support to: 

  • Assess and diagnose your condition
  • Receive hands-on therapy, exercise, and pain management tools
  • Develop a home exercise program to reach your goals
  • Learn self-management strategies to become independent in your care
  • Connect with other team members, services, or group programs
