Christopher graduated from Brock University in 2015 with both a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) and a Bachelor of Education, and is a member of the Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) and of The Association of Registered Psychotherapists & Mental Health Professionals (OACCPP). He is currently enrolled in the Masters of Education Program at Brock University, reseaching mental health competencies among teacher education candidates.
Christopher first got his start in board governance and not-for-profit management in his third year at Brock, taking on the position of Board President for Brock University Student Radio. From there he served as a member of Brock's student council (BUSAC) for five years, three terms on both Brock University's Senate, and as vice-chair. He also served a term as the Vice-President, Finance and Adminstration which helped craft a deeper appreciation for NFP governance and organizational management.
After experiencing mental health-related issues during his undergraduate degree, and gaining a greater understanding of the mental illness experienced by close friends and family, Chrisptoher chose a course of study that would allow for greater understanding and advocacy for those afflicated with mental health concerns. He currently serves on the Board of Directers for the Niagara Branch of the Canadian Mental Health Association, having served previously as their Treasurer. He also serves as a Board Member of Rainbow's End, NEXTNiagara and Young Professionals Network of Ontario (YPNO).
Christopher looks forward to continuing his passion for healthcare and service while deepening his understanding for healthcare needs beyond the field of mental health.
