John K. Inthavixay, CPA, CA

“No obstacles to health” is the vision of Compass Community Health, and one that John fully supports.  John’s goals as a Director is to use his professional and life experiences to be a voice for equity as Hamilton and Ontario move toward a new framework for health delivery. 

John is a McMaster Hons. B. Comm graduate and a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA).  John started his accounting profession at a multinational firm in Vancouver, auditing The Olympics and servicing the entertainment industry. Currently John works for the Ontario government, and enjoys giving back to his profession by leading CPA Ontario workshops for future accountants. 

Born in a refugee camp, John faced uncertainty and adversity early. As newcomers his family learned to navigate new systems and use whatever resources were available. Gratitude for the compassion experienced early in life has led John to serve on community service Boards:  YouthCO (an outreach program for HIV / HepC - impacted youth) and the Vancouver Fringe Festival. 

John is a devoted family man and works daily to cultivate a home that is safe for expression.
